The island of Cyprus holds a very special place in the history of perfume making.

The 4,000-year-old perfume factory near PARKLANE supplied the palaces and temples of the most powerful ancient kingdoms with precious scents of amber, cinnamon, citrus, and myrtle. Combined with the purest and most exquisite olive oil, these fragrances were put in alabaster containers and shipped to the kings and nobility of Rome, Greece, and Egypt at hefty prices, bringing wealth and fame to the small island.

The importance of Cyprus as the origin of contemporary perfume making was so undisputed that when the French perfumer François Coty invented his quintessential Mediterranean fragrance in 1917, he simply named it Chypre. Today the term chypre describes a large family of fragrances characterised by the contrast between a citrus accord and a woody base. Lightness and solemnity, passion and wisdom, past and future, earth and sea: Cyprus is a land that has learned to create symphony through its many contrasts.

Details

Surrounded by 100,000 square meters (approximately 25 acres) of landscaped gardens, with 222 rooms, 34 suites and 18 luxury villas, the resort welcomes guests with a picturesque view of a verdant grove of evergreen and palm trees, setting the mood for the serene experience that awaits. Three swimming pools (one filled with seawater, and one for adults only) glisten in front of the main building, surrounded by cabanas, waterbeds, and lounge areas for outdoor dining and drinks. The perfect seaside getaway is completed with a special all-day facility for children, a luxurious spa area, a vast ballroom, conference facilities, six restaurants, two bars and a 300-meter-long Blue Flag sandy beach. The facilities are open throughout the year for work or pleasure to both guests and the general public.

ACCOMMODATION
Designed by Harrods Interiors, the resort and its facilities embody a refined interpretation of Cypriot landscape and culture, with a focus on local history and the ancient perfumery of Pyrgos. The resort’s restaurants comprise a vibrant kaleidoscope of culinary and visual experiences, set to satisfy even the most discerning and cosmopolitan guests.

Every accommodation embodies the rich history of Cyprus, reinterpreted with a sleek and modern approach. Traditional “Lefkaritika” patterns and the art of loom weaving adorn the interiors, complemented by rich woods and exquisite custom-made furnishings that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. One of the standout features is the exceptionally comfortable bedding, boasting the finest linen by Frette. South-facing rooms and suites offer spectacular views of the Mediterranean, whilst the north side overlooks the landscaped grounds and the mountains beyond.

Families with children will particularly enjoy Park Kidz, where a castle, a pirate ship with water slides, and an open buffet restaurant are ready to serve young guests. The park offers a wide range of activities, including adventures, competitions, fun-filled games, and various handicraft and creative activities, ensuring that even the most energetic youngsters are entertained while parents enjoy a relaxing day at the resort. There are also two clay tennis courts a multi-use sports area and a mini football pitch with FIFA-spec grass. Park Kidz is a complimentary facility provided free of charge to all resort guests and members. All activities are organised and supervised by qualified and multilingual personnel.

A designated “adults-only” area includes Lifestyle suites and a separate swimming pool, offering a relaxed environment for guests travelling without children.
